Canadian Patents Update: The Plavix Case

In #Canada there has been a lack of clarity in regards to the #utility requirement for patented inventions.  There was hope that the Plavix case  would shed light on this issue; however, on November 3rd, the case that was thought to "provide guidance on Canada's 'promise' doctrine of utility and the test for sound prediction of utility," has been settled prior to its hearing in Supreme Court.
